These are two issues of Krokodil (Крокодил), the Soviet Union's legendary satirical magazine published from 1922 to 1991. Issue #26 features a dentist cartoon, while #17 shows comic strips about daily Soviet life. Krokodil was given unusual freedom to lampoon bureaucracy, laziness, and everyday absurdities in Soviet society.
The magazine attracted the USSR's best satirical artists and writers, including Vladimir Mayakovsky and the famous Kukryniksy collective. At its peak, circulation reached 6.5 million copies. The cartoons used visual humor accessible across the Soviet Union's many languages and became a crucial part of Soviet popular culture.
Good vintage condition. Pages show age-appropriate yellowing and light wear. Some minor edge wear on covers. All pages intact and illustrations clear. Typical aging for Soviet-era paper stock.
