Soviet Commemorative Watch, 35th Anniversary, Floral Enamel Bracelet

A Soviet ladies' presentation watch produced to mark the 35th anniversary of a Kotlas-based institution — the dial center carries a color medallion with "35," Котласский text, and an emblem, surrounded by Roman numerals on a pale blue ground with gold hands. The tonneau-shaped gold-tone case connects to an integrated bracelet of painted enamel links: rectangular panels in rope-twist frames, each depicting roses and morning glories in pink, orange, and blue on white. Six large links flank the case, four smaller ones complete the bracelet.

Soviet enterprises routinely commissioned presentation watches as anniversary gifts — awarded to workers, officials, or institutional partners. The watch functioned simultaneously as a timepiece, a certificate of loyalty, and a piece of jewelry. Most were produced in small runs and distributed at factory ceremonies. This one came from somewhere in Kotlas, in Russia's Arkhangelsk Oblast, marking a milestone that mattered enough to commemorate in enamel.
