description

A Soviet Чайка ladies' watch with an integrated bracelet of hand-painted enamel links — each tapered rectangular panel depicting soft floral miniatures in pink, white, and green: roses, blossoms, leaves on a white ground. The oval gold-tone case carries a white dial with no numerals, only a red dot and trailing vine garland border, Чайка branding in Cyrillic, and 17 jewel notation. Gold hands. Made at the Uglich Watch Factory in the 1970s–80s.

Chaika's painted enamel bracelets were among the most labor-intensive items the factory produced — each link hand-painted before firing, then fitted to a mechanical watch movement that cost a fraction of the decorative work surrounding it. They were the Soviet answer to a luxury wristwatch: technically modest, visually extravagant.

Fair vintage condition. Bracelet enamel shows significant crazing and chipping across multiple links, with some paint loss. Damage is visible and affects presentation. Case and dial in better shape — dial clean, branding legible, hands present. Recently serviced, running.
