A Soviet Chaika ladies' watch with a hinged enamel cover concealing the dial — known as a часы-секрет, or secret watch. The case and four bracelet links are set with hand-painted floral miniatures on pale blue enamel grounds: white blossoms and forget-me-nots in filigree-edged rectangular frames. The hinged cover lifts to reveal a white dial with Arabic numerals and Chaika branding. Produced at the Chaika factory in Uglich, this style was among the most decorative pieces in Soviet watchmaking, intended for the gift and export market.
Chaika — named after Valentina Tereshkova's call sign, the first woman in space — produced watches exclusively for women. The enamel bracelet watch represented the factory's highest decorative register, combining the Soviet craft tradition of painted miniatures with precision mechanical watchmaking.
Good vintage condition. Enamel panels intact with vivid color. Case and bracelet show light wear. Recently serviced, running.
