A pocket-sized subminiature camera in all-black metal body, sliding open to reveal the Industar-M 23mm f/3.5 lens and red-dot shutter indicator. The back panel carries an analog exposure calculator with weather-condition pictograms (sun, haze, clouds, shade) and a film speed dial, eliminating the need for a light meter. Shutter speeds of 1/30, 1/60, and 1/200 sec with apertures from f/3.5 to f/11. Closes flat to 84x46x27mm, roughly the size of a pack of cigarettes.
The Киев 30 was made at Arsenal in Kyiv from 1974 to 1983, with over a million units produced. It used 16mm unperforated film in proprietary cassettes, a format that kept costs low enough to make this the everyday subminiature of the Soviet bloc while the West had largely moved on to Kodak's 110 cartridge. Whether it was ever used for actual espionage is between you and the KGB.
Good vintage condition. Body shows light wear throughout. Sliding mechanism functions. Lens appears clear. Exposure calculator dial intact and turns.
