description

A Soviet internal passport issued September 10, 1952 by the Talinsky District Militia of the Armenian SSR to Варде Габриеловна Шекислян, born March 20, 1900 in Turkey. Nationality Armenian, social position collective farm worker. Serial X-MT No. 719393, marked бессрочный — indefinite validity. The signature field reads неграмотная — illiterate. The bilingual cover carries "ПАСПОРТ / ԱՆՁՆԱԳԻՐ" in Russian and Armenian script, standard for Armenian SSR-issued documents.

Varде Shekislyan was born in Ottoman Turkey in 1900, which means she was fifteen years old during the Armenian Genocide of 1915. She survived, made it to Soviet Armenia, and spent her life as a collective farm worker in Talinsky district. By 1952, the Soviet state issued her a permanent identity document — her birthplace recorded simply as "Turkey," the word that contained an entire history.

Fair to good vintage condition. Cover shows heavy wear and soiling. Interior intact with clear entries throughout. Propiska pages blank.
